Teachers Day:
The birth date of the second President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, 5 September 1888, has been celebrated as Teacher's Day since 1962. National Teachers' Day is not a holiday, but it is celebrated by having a ceremonial activity in recognition of certain teachers, headmasters, and other school staff. It is celebrated on 5 September. This year it will be celebrated on 5 September-Saturday-2020. In honor of Sarvepalli's belief that "teachers should be the best minds in the country". 1989: the institution of the Radhakrishnan Scholarships by Oxford University in the memory of Sarvepalli. The first Teachers Day was celebrated in India on 1962-5 September.
