Onam is a religious or main festival for a state of India named , Kerala .
It is also a harvest festival and falls on the 22nd of nakshatra Thiruvonam  in the month of chingam in the Malayalam calendar . Which in Gregorian calendar protrude accompanied by  August-September. The most beautiful observances of this festival is

 Kaikottikali Dance 

This festival will start on 22-Saturday-August-2020 and will be end on  2-Wednesday-September-2020.


Why this festival is celebrated ?


There an  Ancient story or history behind the celebrating of this Festival.
This story starts from a brave king lived in the state of Kerala whose name was Mahabali . With his bravery he has taken control of earth and Hades and then he started to take control of sky so all gods were worried where would they live if he take control of the sky so in the request of lord Indra Dev God Vishnu come to earth in the form of  vaman  and he in the hand out he asked for the Earth and sky and send him to the Hades and in the request of Mahabali God Vishnu allows him to come on the day of Onam And from that day the Malayalis celebrate the festival Onam. 



When was Onam in 2019 ?


In 2019 Onam started  on 1st-September-Sunday-2019 and ended on 13th-September-Friday-2019. 

What is Onam ? 


Onam is a religious festival for the state Kerala which is celebrated in the happiness of returning of the king Mahabali.

When is Onam 2020 ?
